Orientation Days: A smooth transition into student life in France
Each year, new international cohorts—degree-seeking students and exchange participants—arrive on campus to begin their academic journey.
The sessions provide key information about academic life, digital tools, and essential procedures, such as visa validation, health insurance, and housing arrangements. Workshops led by De Vinci’s International office “Welcome Desk” ensure that students are equipped with everything they need to integrate successfully into their new environment.
This initial support reflects the school’s educational philosophy: helping each student grow both academically and personally while gaining autonomy in a new cultural context.

Welcoming EMLV International Students: Intakes and Student Profiles at Campus du Parc
Each year, De Vinci Higher Education welcomes new international cohorts through two main intakes.
The September intake brings together degree-seeking students enrolled in the Master in Management – Grande École Programme, Bachelor students, and exchange students joining EMLV for a semester or a full academic year.
Later on, the October intake will welcome students enrolled in EMLV’s MBA, DBA, and MSc programmes.
These two sessions mark the beginning of a diverse academic community where international students from all backgrounds integrate into their respective programmes and begin their journey within EMLV’s hybrid and multicultural environment.
The new Campus du Parc welcomed the September intake with teaching rooms, a Learning Centre, studios, and collaborative areas that accommodate several educational formats, including group projects, case studies, simulations, and hybrid courses. Students also have access to an agora, a cafeteria, sports facilities and shared spaces designed for academic and community life.
Campus du Parc supports EMLV’s positioning at the intersection of management, technology and societal transitions. International students join a multicultural environment shaped by academic learning, professional projects, intercultural experience and cooperation across disciplines.

At EMLV, international students are supported from the moment they arrive in France thanks to a dedicated Welcome Desk, a multilingual service designed to simplify every step of the transition to campus life.
Whether joining for an exchange semester or a full-time international programme, students benefit from personalised guidance covering essential administrative and practical matters such as visa validation and renewal, housing support, registration for health insurance and housing aid, bank account opening, and access to local transport.
The Welcome Desk also assists newcomers with day-to-day needs—setting up phone and internet subscriptions, understanding local services, and navigating the student environment. During Welcome Week, this support continues with practical workshops on insurance, health, and banking, followed by campus tours and social activities led by the Erasmus Student Network (ESN), fostering intercultural connections from the start.
Located directly on campus, the Welcome Desk remains accessible throughout the year, in coordination with the De Vinci International Office, ensuring ongoing multilingual assistance and a smooth integration into both academic and everyday life in France.

An effort falling under the Bienvenue en France Label
This initiative is made feasible through the Bienvenue en France label acquired by the schools in 2020. Overseen by French authorities, this label aims to enhance France’s appeal to international students.
Part of a comprehensive strategy to globally promote French higher education, the label streamlines administrative processes and elevates the quality of the welcome extended.
The school’s International Relations Department organises Orientation Days, facilitated by the Welcome Desk, to provide international students with the best possible welcome.

Orientation Days: preparing for academic life at EMLV
The Orientation Days bring together degree-seeking and exchange students before classes begin. Organised by the International Relations Department and supported by the Welcome Desk, the sessions cover the academic, administrative and practical aspects of studying in France.
The programme begins with student badge collection, for which participants provide a passport or national identity card. A welcome breakfast then creates an initial opportunity for students from different countries and programmes to meet.
During the Welcome Conference, the international cohort meets the De Vinci Higher Education staff members who will support them throughout their studies. The session introduces the academic environment, available services and the main contacts for questions related to student life.
Preparing for academic life at EMLV
Digital tools for a connected learning environment
A dedicated workshop introduces the digital platforms used throughout the academic year. Students learn how to access and navigate their student portal, the DVO distance-learning platform and Microsoft Outlook 365.
These tools support communication with teaching teams, access to course materials and the management of academic information. This digital onboarding is particularly relevant within EMLV’s educational model, which combines management, technology and digital practices across its programmes.
The school’s Master in Management – Grande École Programme includes courses on artificial intelligence, coding, and collaborative tools, alongside the fundamentals of management. Familiarity with the digital environment from the beginning therefore prepares students for project-based and interdisciplinary learning.
Visa, healthcare and housing procedures explained
The second part of the programme focuses on the procedures associated with settling in France. A visa conference explains the main requirements for international students, while an administrative session addresses the French healthcare system, housing and other formalities linked to daily life.
The Welcome Desk provides multilingual assistance with visa validation and renewal, health insurance, housing support, housing benefits, bank accounts and local transport. Its team also assists students with practical matters such as phone subscriptions and access to local services.
This support remains available throughout the academic year in coordination with the International Relations Department. Students therefore have a dedicated point of contact as they become familiar with French administrative systems and their new academic environment.
The Settling in France Fair: services and student associations
The Settling in France Fair brings together organisations involved in banking, insurance, healthcare and French Social Security. Students can speak directly with representatives and identify the services relevant to their personal situation.
Student associations also take part in the fair. Among them, ESN DeVinci supports international integration by organising cultural visits, social activities and opportunities for interaction between international and French students.
The association accompanies participants during a cruise on the Seine, providing an informal setting for conversations and a first shared experience in Paris. This activity complements the administrative sessions with a cultural introduction to the city.
Preparing for success beyond the classroom
Beyond the logistics, Orientation Days introduce students to the values that drive De Vinci Higher Education: innovation, inclusion, and adaptability.
