On-campus job fairs can be a great way to network with potential recruiters and make a great first impression, potentially leading to an internship, a job or a work-study position. Known as a country of conviviality and sharing, France is the perfect opportunity to make valuable connections in all fields over the world.
Each year, November brings to EMLV students Devinci Career Fair, the most important on-campus recruitment event aimed at matching students with top employers from France. Armed with CV’s, cover letters and the right presentation skills, students explored internships and networking opportunities offered by De Vinci Higher Education corporate partners.
Devinci Career Fair: what Fench recruiters expect from “Grande Ecole” students
For Societe Generale, a partner company, Devinci Career Fair “is a special moment” that they would not want to miss. This event is an excellent opportunity to meet recruitment teams from all over the country, as the employers are in constant competition for the highest quality talent. For example, the Engie Solutions team seeks a number of management skills in job applicants. “We have more engineers who are also managers. So there are also double degrees in finance, and marketing, which may interest us a lot.”
As digital transformation is central for many companies, digital leadership skills are among the most sought-after job skills. “At Bouygues Telecom, we are always looking for new talents to join our teams on digital transformation topics. We recruit many interns, a high number of work-study students, and we have a lively intern and work-study community.”
On-Campus networking opportunities for EMLV international students
Snezhana, an MSc International Finance student, targets a role in risk management. “I applied at Allianz Assurance as a risk management assistant, so I’m very excited. I have no experience with risk, but that’s why I signed up for EMLV, to learn more about investment decisions. I had another interview this morning with Orange, in the field of management control: it went very well. I want to meet with as many people as possible, see what’s on the market, what are they’re looking for and what I can offer and hopefully get an internship.”
Valeria, MSc Digital Business & Analytics student, is looking for e-commerce jobs in France. “I applied for Inetum, to do an internship as a consultant in e-commerce. I have seen this ad in the SeeKube application. In the beginning, I have looked for the company information, to prepare myself for the interview. It was a rich experience because it allowed me to gain more experience in interviews and even though they are not looking for an internship that starts early. I’m looking for an internship for April 2022, but this was really helpful for me because it helps me to perfect my soft skills in these interviews. I would really recommend to all internship international students to improve their French and to be able to have an interview en French also“.
