EMLV announces that Valérie Fernandes has taken up her position as Dean, effective from 1 November, 2025.
Valérie Fernandes has held the position of Associate Dean in charge of faculty and academic development at Excelia since 2023, after serving as Dean of the Faculty for ten years. She created and directed the Excelia Lab’ educational innovation laboratory and participated in the national management education research group (MACCA).
She holds a PhD in Management Sciences and defended her thesis at the University of Corsica on supply chain control methods in the aeronautics sector, before obtaining a Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches (HDR) at the University of Évry-Val d’Essonne, focusing on industrial performance and the sustainability of logistics chains. Her work focuses on the circular economy, governance and corporate social responsibility.
She is vice-president of the Development Council of the Grand Port Maritime de La Rochelle and chairs the Port’s Ecological Transition Committee.
A vision focused on management transitions
At the helm of EMLV, Valérie Fernandes will continue to train hybrid managers capable of connecting technology, strategy and people. Her mission is in line with the school’s positioning: to prepare future graduates to understand and support changes in the professional world, with a focus on shared responsibility and innovation.
A word from Valérie Fernandes, Dean of EMLV
Training tomorrow’s leaders means giving them the means to act meaningfully and impactfully at the heart of major technological, economic and environmental transitions.
It is with great joy and pride that I take up the position of Dean of EMLV Business School.
Choosing EMLV is much more than choosing a management school.
It means joining a place where you learn to understand, anticipate, and lead change in the world.
Joining EMLV means joining a dynamic school, recognised in France and internationally, at the heart of De Vinci Higher Education, a unique ecosystem where management, engineering and creativity come together. It is this hybridisation of skills, this open-mindedness and this ability to innovate together that make our school so strong.
At EMLV, we train leaders of change — women and men capable of combining robustness, agility and responsibility in the face of major technological, economic, environmental and societal challenges.
My conviction is simple: tomorrow’s managers will not merely navigate transitions — they will become informed and committed actors in them.
My priority is clear: to guide our students towards the professions of tomorrow, giving them the keys to understand, act and adapt, but also to imagine new solutions that serve organisations and society.
My mission, together with all the teams, is to continue this momentum: to train our students to become hybrid, conscious and responsible managers, capable of connecting technology with people, strategy with sustainability, and performance with responsibility.
I am delighted to be joining a committed, inspiring and open-minded community.
Together, let’s make EMLV a school that not only supports transitions, but shapes them.
I am delighted to be joining a committed community, rich in talent, values and ambition: students, faculty, programmes and administrative staff. Together, we will continue to make EMLV a school of excellence: human, bold and forward-looking.
See you soon on campus!
Valérie Fernandes
EMLV Dean
