A live broadcast at the heart of RFI
Master in Management students from EMLV recently visited the studios of Radio France Internationale (RFI) in Paris to attend a live broadcast of Journal en français facile.
Organised under the guidance of Madeleine Zazzo, French Language Coordinator at EMLV, the visit formed part of the school’s approach to language learning rooted in real-life professional contexts.
During the session, students followed the different stages involved in producing a radio programme broadcast worldwide, from editorial preparation to live transmission. This behind-the-scenes immersion highlighted how complex current affairs are adapted for an international audience learning French, combining journalistic rigour with pedagogical clarity.
An international cohort engaged with French media
The group brought together international students currently enrolled in a Master’s programme at the Pôle Léonard de Vinci, with academic backgrounds and nationalities including India, Russia, Germany and Taiwan.
For many participants, the experience represented a first direct encounter with French-language media in a professional environment, complementing classroom-based learning.
Attending a live broadcast of Journal en français facile allowed students to contextualise vocabulary, tone and rhythm within authentic media discourse. Beyond linguistic aspects, the visit encouraged reflection on the role of media in shaping public understanding across cultures, a key issue in international management and communication.
