Information systems play a key role in modern business, which makes studying information systems essential for business school students. Studying information systems provides students with essential information and communication technology (ICT) skills. Information systems are used in operations management, decision-making, customer relationship management and many other areas of business. Business school students can therefore acquire technical skills and develop an understanding of the issues related to information systems in the business context.
Students studying information systems can also learn more about how information technology has transformed businesses, and the opportunities and challenges associated with its use. They can also gain a better understanding of information systems strategies, such as data management, data security and business continuity planning in the event of computer system failure. Finally, studies in information systems can also offer interesting career opportunities in areas such as project management, data analysis, or the management of information systems for companies, government organisations and NGOs.
