At EMLV we embrace international experience as a key component of both personal and professional development. From the first year of the Grande École Programme, intercultural learning is embedded into the curriculum. Academic mobility and international internships enable students to build flexible, globally minded profiles adapted to today’s challenges.

Studying Abroad: A Core Element of the Curriculum

All students enrolled in the Grande École Programme complete at least one academic semester abroad at one of EMLV’s partner universities, located across five continents. Depending on their goals, they may also apply for a double degree or attend a summer school abroad.

International mobility is supported by a structured pedagogical approach:

Pre-departure intercultural preparation
Information sessions on foreign academic systems
Workshops to prepare CVs and pitches in English for international internships

An international internship is mandatory in Year 3 of the Grande École Programme, extending the global learning experience into the workplace. It helps students consolidate their academic learning in a professional, cross-cultural environment.

Academic mobility also applies to students enrolled in Bachelor programmes. Depending on the specific curriculum, a semester abroad may be offered in Year 2 or 3, sometimes complemented by an international internship or project. These experiences are designed to enhance independence, intercultural adaptability, and access to international career opportunities.

Welcoming International Students at EMLV

Each year, EMLV welcomes international students through exchange agreements, double degrees, or full-time international programmes (MiM, MSc, MBA) for one semester or an entire academic cycle. Courses are taught in English across all specialisations of the Grande École, MSc, and MBA programmes.

A structured onboarding process ensures smooth integration:

Dedicated orientation week
Buddy programme with EMLV students
Intercultural activities and student clubs
French as a foreign language (FLE) classes available on campus

All practical arrangements (housing, insurance, visa procedures) are supported by the International Relations Office, with an online welcome guide and personalised assistance via the Welcome Desk.

Internationalisation at EMLV is not limited to outbound mobility. It is also fostered “at home” through:
