Les étudiants de la filière international de l'EMLV se sont réunis pour "l'International Coffee Break" de la rentrée.
Ivan, Rino, Ahmad, Richard and Charity study at EMLV. Ivan is Argentinian; Rino, Japanese; Ahmad, Afghan; Richard, English and Charity, Nigerian. They come from different parts of the world but have one thing in common: they chose EMLV to study business in France. And these are the reasons why.
Paris, City of Lights! The five students have stars in their eyes when they talk about the capital of France. Business school EMLV is not only situated in Paris, but also in the heart of “La Défense”, Europe’s First Business District. Such a location is an important asset for their future career.
Rino from Japan is a student in the MBA. She quotes Paris-La Défense as a motivation point to come to EMLV, before specifying Paris. A way to emphasise the professional environment. For his part, the British and blond Richard has nothing but praise for Paris.
“It’s everything you think it would be! It’s an amazing city! There’s a lot of cute little shops and lovely buildings.”
Even if Paris is in the center of the conversation, the students also point out the quality of the courses.
Charity, student in MSc International Business, points out that she learns “a wide scope of different skills”. It’s a good way to sum up the profile of this multidisciplinary curriculum. The goal is to provide students with the best tools to succeed in the global business context. The teachers give them both an academic and practical approach to gain competences in their future profession.
“I like this broad program, with a nice spectrum of courses”, stresses Ivan.
The programme is based on a global outlook: project management, interactive curriculum, how to evolve in a team, how to present to an audience. Several visits to French and international firms as well as to start-ups and the”FrenchTech” are part of the programme. There are 450 hours of class projects and visits and a 6-month internship or dissertation.
The teaching groups are human-sized. It’s more efficient and facilitates understanding. Only 1 hour out of 10 is devoted to lectures. The rest of the time is a project centered approach. For example, the Consultant Project in the MBA: the students work with firms on digital and social media strategy. At the end of the course, the students are able to apply the methods in a professional context. Students also receive coaching to develop their personal and professional skills.
“The school is really nice, exclaims Richard. They are dealing with the students. They look after everyone.”
Thanks to empirical and practical teaching methods, students will acquire technical as well as managerial skills. The MBA prepares for various careers in the digital sectors such as: Social Media Analyst, SEO Expert, Accounts Manager Affiliation, Traffic Manager, Digital Campaign Consultant, Marketing Manager, Digital Project Manager, Content Strategist.
