5 MBA International Students Become Super Volunteers for Moneta Alexis Foundation

As part of their curriculum at EMLV, MBA students coming from abroad act as if they were consultants by developing a digital marketing strategy. For their project, five of them chose Moneta Alexis Foundation, an organization that is committed to providing help to economically disadvantaged people mainly in Africa, but also in Paris.

Pascale, Rino, Deena, Asya, and Suttirat hold an event yesterday at Pole Léonard de Vinci. They recruited new volunteers, collected canned food, warm clothes, and hygiene products.

A Professional Support from A to Z

The EMLV students act just as if they were an agency working for a client. They provide the Foundation reviews and recommendations on its digital strategy development, its SEO optimization, brand content, social media marketing, how to build their online site and then build it, etc. They write articles or post videos on the blog and analyze how well the project was progressing.

Each week, they meet with Moneta Alexis Foundation team in Boulogne-Billancourt. They discuss the next steps in the action plan.

“Actons is needed on three fronts: first, by recruiting volunteers; secondly, by giving immigrants or refugees the right skills they need in today’s marketplace to be independent and earn a decent salary; thirdly, by providing them affordable food and a home where they can rest”, explains Pascale, from Libanon.

The core courses of the MBA are focused on digital marketing and communication: digital and social media marketing strategy, Web-marketing, cross canal marketing, digital communication, e-business of Internet of Things.

A Social and Personal Involvement

To work for such an organization is not only to implement skills learned at school, but it is also to share human values and solidarity. Working with Moneta Alexis Foundation is not only a matter of Digital Marketing Strategy. It’s also about committing oneself in a somewhat personal way.

“In my family in Lebanon, helping others is something very natural. Our family is active in located based charities. From a young age, I have been taught to be generous and to be interested in those who can not afford a decent life. Using social networks for a cause other than strictly commercial, for values that I wear for years, seemed very natural”, tells Pascale.

Rino from Japan was very surprised when she arrived in France to study at EMLV. She had this typical cliché in mind: Paris, the most beautiful city in Europe, Le Louvre, Department Stores, such as Les Galeries Lafayette or Le Printemps. It was simply impossible for her to imagine that people were homeless in the most visited city in the world ahead of London and New York City…

“I felt bad when I saw so many people in the streets, refugees without shelters, I was shocked by the number of them”, she points outs.

That’s the reason why Rino is so passionate today to work for Moneta Alexis Foundation.
