To help higher education train a new leadership, EMLV offers a new undergraduate course, titled: “Business in a Globalized World.” The course is taught by Bastien Nivet, an authority in geopolitics and currently the Head of the Undergraduate Curriculum at EMLV Business School. Prof. Bastien Nivet’s class mingles French and international students from four continents: EU, North America, Asia, Latin America.
Recent events such as the Covid 19 pandemia have illustrated how globalization has led to a strong interdependence among businesses, states, international organizations, and so on.
In this context, future managers and entrepreneurs must understand the challenges, impacts, opportunities, and threats of this globalized world. The course covers the corporate demand for new skills to address present and future crises.
The course covers different aspects of globalization: economic, cultural, social, geopolitical dimensions and their impact on the business environment.
Prof. Nivet brings a transdisciplinary approach to help raise the awareness of future professionals on the impact of the international environment on their professional and personal lives.
Through a mix of online and in-class tools, students confront concepts, theories, debates and concrete implications with real-world data and they are led to put everything in perspective.
Just as a global corporate manager or a global entrepreneur would do, when they think business, they have to have in mind the global picture and the impact of globalization on each aspect: economy, marketing, entrepreneurship, ethics, sustainability, etc.
