East China University of Science and Technology: an academic agreement for international mobility at EMLV

EMLV is expanding its academic presence in Asia by signing a new exchange agreement with East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST), a leading university in Shanghai. This partnership is part of the Grande École Programme’s international strategy and will expand mobility opportunities in China starting with the class of 2026.

This collaboration illustrates EMLV’s desire to structure a demanding international outlook, backed by globally recognised academic institutions.

East China University of Science and Technology: a leading university in the heart of Shanghai

Founded in 1952, East China University of Science and Technology is one of China’s leading higher education institutions.

Located in Shanghai, one of Asia’s major economic and financial centres, ECUST stands out for the quality of its School of Business, which is accredited by EQUIS, AACSB and AMBA.

Ranked 48th nationally, the university enjoys solid academic recognition and maintains partnerships with several French institutions, including ICN Business School and the University of Rennes 1.

Its academic environment, with a strong international focus, provides a coherent framework for students in EMLV’s Master in Management – Grande École Programme.

An exchange agreement integrated into the MiM – Grande École Programme

The partnership with ECUST takes the form of an academic exchange agreement, open to students in the MiM – Grande École Programme. Starting in autumn 2026, two EMLV students will be able to spend a semester studying in Shanghai as part of the programme’s compulsory international mobility component.

This mobility is aimed at students pursuing an international career path and is part of the structured curriculum of the PGE’s third year, which is 100% international.

The courses taken at ECUST allow students to deepen their understanding of the fundamentals of management in an Asian context, while developing a detailed understanding of Chinese economic dynamics.

China, a strategic learning environment

With this new agreement, EMLV is strengthening its presence in China, alongside academic partners already established in the country, such as Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, Beijing Jiaotong University, Shanghai Normal University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and the University of Macau.

China occupies a central place in global value chains, innovation strategies and contemporary geopolitical issues.

An academic experience in Shanghai is a valuable lever for developing intercultural skills, strengthening autonomy and preparing for a career in complex international environments.

An international strategy based on academic excellence

This partnership with ECUST is part of EMLV’s global strategy, which is based on a network of more than 150 partner universities around the world, most of which are accredited.

The aim is to guarantee each student international mobility with high academic value, in line with international standards.

EMLV’s Grande École Programme, which leads to a Master’s degree and is accredited by AACSB, AMBA and EFMD Accredited Master, structures international experience as a lever for training and employability. The academic experience is complemented by professional experience abroad, which is integrated into the programme.

Training managers capable of evolving in global contexts

Through this new agreement, EMLV confirms its positioning: to train hybrid managers who are responsible and open to the world, capable of understanding economic, technological and societal issues on an international scale.

The integration of universities such as ECUST into the partner network helps to offer coherent, progressive courses rooted in the realities of the field, in line with the expectations of businesses and the transformations taking place in management professions.
