International Students: Shaping Business Schools in France

Teachers and professors are known for setting the standards of higher education pedagogy in business schools; however, equally motivated individuals are here to steal the spotlight. We’re talking about international students and how they are putting forward their ideas towards a richer and more dynamic academic exchange. In fact, this article will reveal how international students are shaping business schools in France.

International Students Across France

With more than 343,400 foreign students, France is one of the only countries in the world to attract students from across continents (Campus France). With an increasing number of enrollments in masters and doctoral specialties, business schools are catching up fast as they develop English taught programs tailored for their students and allowing them to address academic and professional disciplines in their own learning context. And since we’re a tad lazy to read all the numbers, let’s move to more interesting facts.

Rich Learning Experience

Such experience comes with a fresh cultural perspective and allows lecturers and professionals to refine their teaching approaches. Interacting with people from other countries and continents increases the cultural scope of the studies for everyone at the university, including the instructors. So, it is no longer about students learning from their professors only, but the other way around. This means the more international students the classrooms include, the bigger the learning curve, and the faster the growth of business schools or any other institutions.

Human Source for Research

There’s nothing better than a diverse group of students enriching their classes with different perspectives on topics. The discussions will be filled with a variety of thoughts, and by using resources and experiences from their home country, they will link the theories and adapt them according to their cultural background, which will give their peers the chance to have new information they might not have previously been familiar with. And just as foreign professors bring unique viewpoints to the classroom, we shouldn’t overlook the countless benefits of international students and what they bring to the table, from skills to new experiences.

Cultural Awareness

A diverse campus environment ensures cultural adaptability, especially in business schools where different countries have different managerial and business processes, laws, and strategies. Studying in a foreign university gives everyone a chance to travel around the world and perhaps learn a new language and discover a brand-new culture that could be close to their own or the complete opposite. The wide-ranging experiences that all school members will be exposed to will directly have an impact on their personal development too. A perfect example would be here at EMLV. Both MBA and MSc students brought their various workplace experiences on campus, and throughout their six months together, worked on a multitude of projects for each of their courses and added their personal input, while benefiting from each other’s way of thinking and analyzing. Needless to say, the final outcome of their projects was outstanding.
