Going International in Business School with De Vinci International Week 2022

Teachers, researchers, and professionals from around the world gathered at De Vinci Higher Education for International Week, March 28th to April 1st. EMLV hosted lecturers from partners universities from Austria, Hungary, India, Ireland, Italy,  Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania, South Korea, Sweden, Mexico, Romania, Thailand, Togo, the US, and Ukraine.

De Vinci Higher Education schools have been developing a transversal pedagogical approach that blends different specializations, allowing students to work in multidisciplinary teams – managers, engineers, designers – whilst progressing in their studies and gaining digital knowledge. And is in that spirit that the annual international week inspires students from EMLV, ESILV, IIM and their partner universities to think globally, develop their understanding of different cultures and open up new opportunities after graduation.

During the International Week, EMLV students have the opportunity to immerse themselves into new cultures right here, in Paris, France. The 2022 edition combined face-to-face and digital lectures, workshops, and conferences designed to create cross-disciplinary links on campus.

De Vinci International Week, a week full of global events

The week-long programme of activities included:

• Guest lectures and seminars
• International focused workshops on studying and finding an internship abroad, double-degrees, incoming and outcoming student experience
• Sightseeing cruiseon the Seine
• On-campus cheese and wine evening

During the International Week, students can choose from a variety of elective courses to complete their Core Management Programme at EMLV. The training programme covered all areas of business, finance, marketing and management, with over 40 modules.

Digital Finance: Blockchain, Fintech and Digital Disruption

This course given by Prof. Cynthia Toledo from Tecnologico de Monterrey enables students to understand blockchain, its link with the fintech industry, and why it matters. They can get an overview of the Fintech ecosystem around the world and discover new disruptive digital business models and trends in financial services.

Digital Leadership: making the best out from digital transformation

According to Prof. Rana Jisr, from the Lebanese University, the painstaking road for organizational survival is digitization. The digital world has not only changed organizations, but also created a new model of leadership. Digitization is not only reshaping organizations and creating a new workforce, but also reforming the way they operate and manage new challenges. The seminar she introduced to EMLV students focused on managerial leadership and the notions, skills, and ethics that enable leaders to effectively lead the digital transformation in the organization.

Corporate Governance and Ethics and Doing business in Global Markets

Inspired by the Dorset College from Dublin curriculum, the Corporate Governance & Ethics module aims to:

• Assess the major international trade theories and evaluate the main instruments of trade policy and their impact on business, consumers, and governments.
• Critique the legal, political and cultural aspects of doing business in different countries and explain why they are important in global management and marketing.
• Evaluate the major entry strategies in the globalization process and the challenges of implementation

In today’s global marketplace, skills are the new currency at work, and learning from a wide range of academics originating from all over the world is a unique experience that awaits students at De Vinci Higher Education.
