Covid-19 Updates: International Students and Researchers are welcomed in France and at EMLV Business School

International students and researchers that are making their way back to France are allowed to enter the country from August 1. French internationalisation agency Campus France gives several pieces of advice to all those who need to join their institution safely for the 2020/21 academic year starting in September.

According to the flyer “France is ready to welcome you”, produced by Campus France, there are several steps to follow to come to France. Depending on their country of origin, researchers and students, whether in long-term, short-term studies or internship have to follow some special provisions.

Students and researchers from “green” countries

Countries that have no specific access restriction to the territory are: members of the European Union as well as the following states: Andorra; Iceland, Liechtenstein, Monaco, Norway, United Kingdom, San Marino, Holy See, Switzerland. Other countries include Australia, Canada, South Korea, Georgia, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Thailand, Tunisia, Uruguay.

Students and researchers from these areas may be requested an attestation of the absence of symptoms of Covid-19 and of contact in the fourteen days preceding the flight with a confirmed case.

Students and researchers from the “red” zone

There are three scenarios for those coming from a red zone. Borders are closed, except for students and researchers who must carry an exempted movement certificate and a “contact” sheet indicating their residence address in France and an attestation of the absence of symptoms or contact with an infected person.

1st case scenario: negative COVID test before the flight or at arrival in France

The following countries are on the list: South Africa, Algeria, Brazil, India, Israel, Kuwait, Madagascar, Oman, Peru, Qatar, Serbia, Turkey.

Students and researchers from these countries must show before boarding a negative COVID test from under 72 hours or carry out a test at their arrival in France. In case of a positive result, a 14-day quarantine is mandatory.

2nd case scenario: negative COVID test before boarding

Those coming from Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, United States, Panama must show a negative Covid test from under 72 hours before boarding.

3rd case scenario: negative COVID test before boarding or 14-days quarantine

Students and researchers from all other countries are invited to show a negative Covid test from under 72 hours before boarding or carry out a voluntary 14-day quarantine upon arrival. If the quarantine is necessary, they will be asked to stay at home as much as possible, avoid contact with other people, monitor their temperature and immediately report any symptoms to a doctor. Additional measures and precautions may be required, such as disinfecting of the accommodation. This voluntary 14-day quarantine aims to protect everyone’s health.
