Housing, transportation, bank account, and health insurance, are just a few of the administrative formalities that international students coming to study abroad in France have to go through. But that doesn’t mean that one can’t enjoy a smooth settling and make the best out of his first year of business school in Paris. Students suffering from cultural shock may feel overwhelmed by the demanding course load and the challenges of adapting to a new culture, but with the right preparation, one year abroad can change their whole life.
At the beginning of October, the new students enrolled in the MBA and MSc programmes at EMLV were able to meet each other and connect with De Vinci Higher Education Welcome Desk, during a business school orientation week. These modules are tailored to the questions and concerns of freshmen international students and provide them with all the tools and information they need to successfully tackle their study abroad journey in Paris. There is an old saying, that “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”, and for many MBA and MSc students, their first weeks in business school could be the first step on their way to a new life, one that connects them to France and the whole world.
One particular way to understand how Paris is structured is by embarking on a boat cruise along the Seine river. Students were thus able to learn about the history of some of the most iconic monuments and enjoy the very best of Paris, while conversing and sharing ideas, thoughts, and hopes with people from various cultures.
However, their Paris experience is just beginning. It is the best time to experience an international environment and leave their mark.
