What I liked most about Pôle Léonard de Vinci and Paris
Overall all the modules were important and really engaging, however, most useful modules for me based on my current role were: Global Business Strategy, Geopolitics & Economic stability, International Project Management, Business & Consumer law and Business Negotiations.
Paris is like second home for me and Pole Leonard de Vinci would be my favourite academic place ever. I have tons of memories from Paris and Pole Leonard de Vinci it’s hard to choose one of them… From Paris it would the view of Eifel Tower from the Bateaux Mouches in the evening: the view was so amazing that it’s hard to put it in words. From Pole Leonard de Vinci last day of our academic program would be my favorite when the feeling of accomplishing the milestone was crazy. I miss the campus, specially “Le Foyer.”
MSc International Business is a perfect option for those who aim to reach senior-level management in an enterprise or expand their own business. It covers courses which are vital in today’s growing business world. After my graduation, I have returned back to my home country (Afghanistan) and have been working with Da Afghanistan Bershna Sherkat (DABS). DABS is a state-owned utility company which is responsible for the operation and management of the electric power system, including generation, import, transmission, distribution and billing throughout the country on a commercial basis.
My job as a Director of Plan and Policy at DABS
I have been recently appointed as Director of Plan and Policy at DABS. It comes as a senior-level management position and its one of the core functions of the company. I believe it will serve as a turning career point for me.
My average working hours is about 12-14 hours. It starts with a hot cup of coffee when I enter the office. I have given priority to my emails and that’s one of the first things which I do in order to response timely. After that I will have my team meetings, where I get updates from yesterday’s activities and assign new tasks.
For proper management of activities, we use Task Management System (TMS). On an average base, I have around 3-4 meetings per day with investors, donors, government agencies and other departments.
The main activity of Plan and Policy directorate is to enrich corporate planning, attract investors, negotiate with neighbouring countries and IPPs and develop internal and external polices and SOPs.
