This recognition highlights both the academic strength of EMLV’s International Business program and the relevance of its students’ contributions to the field of global business research.
Sofia Scoralick Cardoso, class of 2024, completed the MSc International Business at De Vinci Higher Education, EMLV.
Her master’s thesis, supervised by Professor Liudmila Ivvonen, has been accepted for presentation at the Competitive Session of the Academy of International Business (AIB) 2025 conference in Louisville, USA.
The research paper, entitled “Digitalization of Luxury Brands: LVMH’s Strategies for Incorporating Storytelling and Brand Heritage Into Digital Marketing,” examines how global luxury conglomerates adapt their narratives for digital platforms.
By employing a qualitative approach, the study provides insight into how brand heritage and storytelling remain central to digital strategies, without compromising the exclusivity or identity of luxury brands.
In addition to being selected for presentation at AIB 2025, the paper has been nominated for the Rugman Most Promising Scholar Award, one of the highest recognitions conferred by the AIB.
Only one paper per conference track is nominated, making this a particularly notable achievement.
The award honors emerging scholars whose research demonstrates originality, academic rigor, and relevance to the field of international business.
This success also reflects the quality of mentorship within the MSc International Business program. Professor Liudmila Ivvonen, academic advisor on the project, contributed to the development and refinement of the research, ensuring it met international standards for competitive academic conferences.
The nomination and conference acceptance highlight the international orientation and academic rigor of the MSc International Business programme at EMLV.
The program enhances analytical and strategic thinking, equipping students to tackle global business challenges across diverse sectors and industries.
Not only does this MSc programme help students understand the core concepts of the luxury sector, but it also fosters an innovative and disruptive mindset, preparing them to drive positive change and success in this dynamic and evolving industry.
EMLV’s MSc Luxury & Innovation Management offers a comprehensive programme that combines Management, Digital, and Luxury expertise for those aspiring to build a career in the luxury sector.
As luxury brands face challenges related to digital transformation, sustainability, and global expansion, this MSc equips students with the skills to navigate and innovate in an evolving industry.
